Alichia White – Director

Bio:

Alichia began her dance training at the age of 3yrs in tropical Cairns, QLD. Before opening her dream dance studio in 2011. Alichia moved to Brisbane in 1999 to study dance fulltime at the Australian Dance Performance Institute (ADPI.) This was a 2yr course where she successfully completed an Advanced Diploma of Arts (Dance) and a Full Teaching Certificate with the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD). From there she continued her love of teaching for a variety of Brisbane & Gold Coast based dance schools. In 2004 Alichia moved to Sydney to study a year of dance at Brent St Studios and graduated with a Certificate IV in Dance. In 2005 Alichia moved overseas to Hong Kong and taught there for 5yrs entering students in RAD Ballet exams and ISTD Jazz & Tap exams. Alichia has choreographed solos and groups for eisteddfods, concerts and showcases around the world and throughout her years in dance she has performed in various amateur musicals and professional productions throughout Australia and Hong Kong. Alichia’s Dance Academy has been in operation for over 10yrs within the South Brisbane community. 
Alichia has also been extending the joy of dance to our local community Special Schools, so those children can also gain the positive benefits from it within their safety net. 
Miss Alichia extends her passion for dance from the ADA studio to our local Primary and Secondary Special schools, teaching dance to the students, preparing them for their own end of year performances and eisteddfods. The quote “Dance is for Everyone” is something Miss Alichia truly believes and wishes to install

Sarah Brown

Bio:

Sarah Brown is a former principal dancer who is recognized both nationally and internationally as both a performer and teacher. In 2014 Sarah was the 13th Australian at the time to be invited to join the international dance council based in Paris where she was the very first Australian to perform at an international council event as well as teach a ballet masterclass to over thirty teachers from all over the world in Greece.

Sarah has been in the dance industry for over 40 years and trained at some of the world’s best institutions from the Queensland Ballet, WAAPA to the Conservatoire in Paris performing multiple roles in both classical and contemporary with both national and International choreographers and companies before becoming a principal dancer in Melbourne for 12 years.

Sarah has been a qualified dance teacher for over 20 years with the Australian Institute of Classical Dance with capabilities of teaching all age groups and levels from tiny babies to professionals in open classes in different genres as well as multiple syllabi from Russian to Rad.

Sarah is often in demand for masterclasses, workshops and choreography for competitions and performances as well as exam preparation Australia wide and internationally and has been a guest examiner for many dance schools nationally.

Asha Wassell

Bio:
I have been dancing since the age of 6. I have trained under Miss Alichia (director of ADA) and multiple world-renowned teachers from ADA for the majority of my dance years.
I have trained in all styles of dance, however Acro and Ballet is where my passion truly is. 
I have competed in many QLD dance eisteddfod’s as both a group and solo competitor with high results. 
In 2023 I am studying my Bachelor’s in Psycological science/criminology. I also have my Cert III in Early Childhood. 
I am incredibly excited to be sharing my passion for Acro and Ballet with the younger generation of ADA dancers and extending my knowledge and qualifications as a teacher for ADA.
